The Bay Area has some of the most beautiful and uniquely decorated restaurants in California. Not only do they serve great food, but they also provide customers with beautiful experiences with unique interior designs (crucial in today’s Instagram-centric world). The San Francisco Chronicle talks about 10 of the Bay Area’s “most beautiful” restaurants and goes into depth about their famous dishes, decor, and location in Northern California. Here, we’ll take a look at the restaurants’ designs and table base choices, and the benefits the bases provide to decor as well as functionality, such as space and seating.
Bungalow Kitchen
The Bungalow Kitchen, located in Tiburon, is a two story-jungle themed restaurant sitting on the San Francisco Bay in Northern California. The welcome and relaxing bohemian restaurant is decorated with dozens of huge tropical plants, rattan furniture covered in patterned cushions and pillows. Balcony seating allows you to look across the churning waters to views of Angel Island and the surrounding cityscape.

Bungalow Kitchen uses furniture with subtle detail to emphasize the decorative bohemian details used in the restaurant. Bases like our D series bases and our Savile bases are used inside and outside of the restaurant, and act as accent pieces set against the patterned flooring, couch cushions, and wall art all over the restaurant. These bases are great for adding a little bit of flare without taking away from the restaurant design.
Hilda and Jesse

Colorful, vibrant, and “whimsical”, Hilda and Jesse restaurant captures the essence of a modernized 1950s diner combined with electric and quirky details. The diner features classic, bright red swivel chairs and checkered flooring, with yellow and orange colored booth seating. Bright chrome table bases like our CR series are used throughout the restaurant, which help emphasize the vibrant interior design of the diner and fit perfectly with the 50’s diner aesthetic. Just like mirrors, chrome table bases help to bounce light around a space to create a brighter atmosphere. These bases can look both vintage and modern depending on the other elements in the room, so they tend to blend with many different styles of decor.
Palmetto

Palmetto’s style balances the best aesthetics of a vintage diner and a tropical island bar. Between the black and white checkered floors and the assortment of tropical plants, Palmetto is the perfect “Instagram worthy” dinner photo opp. The neon pink sign casts a beautiful light over the interior space, and you can even find an authentic Tiki Bar next door to the restaurant that serves a variety of tropical drinks. Palmetto uses X style bases like our XB series, which have slim legs allowing for flexible chair placement. Palmetto also features bolt down bases for their booth seating, like our P1F base. The P1F has a modern look and minimal footprint, making it a great choice for booth seating.
The Tailor’s Son

This Italian restaurant is a hit in the city of San Francisco. The interior design of the diner is brightly lit with Italian themed color schemes of green, white, and reds. The simplistic decor of the restaurant is tied together with intricately designed table bases, such as our E Series bases, as well as some modern, low profile bases, like our popular Turno series. The restaurant features booth tables with plaid and orange colored cushions that really pop against the other colors in the decor palette. Using table bases such as our E series bases allows our customers to create a statement in their home or business, without it clashing with other decor. The cut out design of the E series adds an elegant and powerful detail to modern and minimalist spaces.
Viridian

Located in Oakland, California is the neon-purple colored Viridian restaurant that glows from the inside out, giving off that sunset light vibe that is so popular on social media. Here you will find a retro bar scene, complete with vibrant neon signs and pendant lights hanging down from the ceiling, creating a dramatic sense of elevation. Viridian features bolt down seating to accompany their large bar scene, and uses cantilever table bases that hook into the wall to provide bar height seating up and down the restaurant. Using a cantilever allows for optimal leg and foot space, since there is no base being used to hold the table up vertically. It’s a great way to maximize your space as well as create a clean and minimalist look.
These are just a few of the standout restaurants in the Bay Area, and there are no doubt a number of equally or more impressively designed establishments across the world. Which restaurant designs are your favorite? Share your thoughts with us on Instagram & Twitter.
