The main purpose of leveling glides is in the name, to help level the table. Glides consist of a threaded metal stem that screws into the base bottom, surrounded by a plastic foot or smooth metal foot (most bases use plastic leveling glides). The threaded metal stem allows you to screw or unscrew the leveling glides, which raises or lowers them to make sure they are all in firm contact with your floor. This prevents wobbling on uneven surfaces such as hardwood or tile flooring. Leveling glides also elevate your table base so that the bare metal is not touching your floors.
Hydraulic glides automatically adjust when you move your tables. Just push down firmly on your table top to compress the glides so they all touch the floor, and they will remain in contact until the next time the table is moved. These specialty glides will raise the height of your base by about 1" from the standard glides. These glides are an optional extra that are compatible with many of our bases, and work especially well on the X style bases such as our B Series bases (shown below).
If you need extra leveling glides for your table bases, you can find many on our website listed with accessories. Our different bases accept different glides, and not all glides are shown online. If you need help finding the correct glide for your base, just give us a call and we can make sure to get the part that will work for your specific table base.
