breakfast nook

Our customer photos today come courtsey of Katherine Meyer, who used one of our E series chrome pedestal table bases to create a custom dining banquette in her beautiful colonial style home. Katherine opted to use a counter height table base. The E series bases offer a great blend of high-style and strength, especially with the available polished chrome finish. They are a popular choice for homeowners and interior designers. Katherine found Tablebases.com through Houzz.com, and spent two years renovating the whole first floor of her family's home to create a more open plan space for everyone to enjoy. Katherine chose an E series Chrome table base with a chrome crony bar (foot ring), at a height that matched her custom banquette seating, which sits a bit taller than average. The taller base also helps prevent her dogs from snatching snacks of the table! Here's the full story from Katherine herself (lightly edited for clarity):
"We started our project in our 1928 Colonial in December of 2014 and just finished up in January of this year! It took us almost 20 years to figure out how to do it right/justice.
In a nutshell, we removed about 4 walls to combine a small galley kitchen, breakfast room, coat closet, family room into one ‘great room’ open space. It’s still not large but every inch has been utilized to the max!
I researched a ton on the website Houzz, which is where I saw the table base from Tablebases.com that we used in our breakfast nook (former closet). We opted to raise up the breakfast nook to allow for a good view out the window – AND - to keep our three pups at bay from food areas (super practical - works great!). We have adjustable bar stools at our ‘bump up bar’ to the left that we move over to the breakfast nook as needed (card playing Christmas Eve). I’ll actually be finishing up the rug underneath this weekend (awesome modular product from a company called FLOR). The Tablebases.com table slides easily in and out of the nook making access a breeze and can actually stand-alone anywhere in the room as needed."
