We Tried a Meal Subscription, Here's Our Thoughts
Out of curiosity, I tried Blue Apron for a few weeks to see what the fuss was all about, and I must say, I was fairly impressed. You sign up online and tell Blue Apron about your food preferences, allergies, diet restrictions, etc. After you pay, you receive a shipment once a week (see photo above) with everything you need. All ingredients are packed in an insulated, silver bag, packed with ice packs. Items that need refrigeration, such as meat and dairy, are packed at the bottom of the box between ice packs, while other items such as produce and dry goods are packed at the top. New Federal Payroll Rules for Restaurant Managers
The Federal Government is set to roll out new regulations on December 1st that cover overtime pay for salaried workers, according to Restaurant Business Online. For the restaurant industry, that mostly means managers will see a boost in overtime pay. Currently, salaried workers who work more than 40 hours a week are not entitled to overtime pay unless they earn less than $23,660 annually. The new rules will push that threshhold to $46,476, and intends to "instantly raise the income of about 4.2 million members of the middle class". Continue reading → -
Marble Bistro Table for Two with Cast Iron Table Base
A petit, marble Bistro table supported by our Brasserie series cast iron table base. Très chic! These beautiful vintage style table bases have a delicate look and feel, but are actually quite strong, so they are a great choice for smaller marble and stone table tops.
