These photos come courtsey of Jaime Bordenave, who decided to use our Bruni 2 x 2 table base for a stunning outdoor* granite patio table. He experiences high winds in his area (his 300 lb barbeque has only been blown over once!), so he decided to make a patio table that would be heavy enough to stay put when the breeze picks up.
In order to accomodate an umbrella, Jaime offset the granite on the base by 1 inch, so the umbrella hole to accomodate the pole sits to the side of the Bruni table base. This is the first time we have seen a customer make a table this way. Sometimes the best solutions are the most simple!

*Please note, the Bruni 2 x 2 is not rated for outdoor use. In more mild climates, it may perform fine, but in humid climates these cast iron bases can potentially rust. Please consult with our customer service reps before using cast iron bases outdoors.
